Today we turn in a slightly different direction, and meet someone new: jul tennuS. This name translates to Uncle Sun (that's the uncle on your father's side, of course you remember), but it might make more sense not to translate it, since it is a name. It is the per yuD of a former aspiring mastermind criminal, and the song tells the tale of his first heist.
We see some inexperienced and overconfident young men planning their train heist in a bar (tachDaq QuS HenwI'vam 'en)
They perfectly execute the first part of the plan, boarding the train and forcing it to stop (HeS pup wewmoHtaH ram maSwov)
However, they find the transport box which they thought would be full of dilithium crystals is completely empty (jajvetlh cha'pujqut HIjlu'be'ba' net Sov)
Two of the men are quickly arrested (SIbI' cha' ghuvvetlh Deq qop ghan'Iq)
And our hero, the "greatest of them all" (ghaH Dun law' Hoch Dun puS), escapes with only a worthless necklace he found on the floor
Do you recognize this necklace? You SHOULD!
Although I have never tried to rob a train, I can personally identify with jul in three ways. One, we share the same first three letters of our code names (and perhaps also the first three letters of our REAL names, if he is as uncreative in his choice of code name as I am).
Two, he had a great idea that he thought would bring him widespread acclaim, and started with a solid execution, but did not have the best planning skills, and ends up spending half his spring break making a music video that will get 36 views on youtube.
Three, as will be seen in the Suchtuv Qo'noS entry below, he's had to spend several years helping a ghost accomplish those things she failed to do when she was alive, even though there are probably other things he'd rather be doing.
On the bright side, we're one step closer to solving the mystery of the haunted ukulele!
